DELUXE ACCOMODATIONS:
The Animal Hospital of Howard offers dog boarding (Howard Hilton) and cat boarding. Both facilities include deluxe lodging, specialized feeding suited to your pets individual needs, comfy blankets, and lots of toys.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
PLAYTIME - This service offers your pet a chance to relieve their excess energy while boarding. Playtime also helps your pet feel more familiar with our staff and thus more relaxed during their stay - Besides, it's fun for your pet

VACCINATIONS:
Current vaccines are neccessary for the protection of all pets boarding with us. Required vaccines for dogs includes: Rabies, Distemper, & Bordetella. For cats: Rabies and Distemper are required. Fecal exams are also recommended and will be done if a problem is suspected.

CLEAN UP BATHS:
It is our policy that all pets leave as clean or cleaner than when they arrived. All canine guests will receive a free spot clean before leaving.

FULL SERVICE VETERINARY CARE:
Vaccines and/or other veterinary care is available. Therefore, illness or emergency situations which may arise will be attended to immediately.

PROFESSIONAL CONSULTATION:
When bringing your pet in for a professional grooming, you will first have a consultation with our groomer in order to decide which look will be best for your individual pet.

The duration of time between professional groomings can vary greatly between dogs of the same breed. Coat condition, hair type, density, and climate are just some of the variables. A lot depends on how much home grooming you are willing to offer to your pet.

TIPS ON HOME GROOMING:
Brushing is essential to a healthy, glowing coat. It eliminates mats and tangles, removes dead hair, dirt and burrs and distributes natural oils, producing a healthy skin tone. A gentle slicker brush is needed for basic grooming. A good quality brush won't harm your pet. Another essential peice of equipment is the comb. A solid metal comb with combination coarse and medium teeth will do nicely.

You must have a serious attitude while working on your pet.  a firm "NO" should suffice when your pet tries to bite at the brush or comb, or tries to charm you with playful antics.

It allows your pet essential socialization, excercise, reduces destruction of property, & may include basic training. Overall, this leads to a happier and healthier life for you and your pet. Day care services have been successful in preventing and eliminating 'Canine Separation Anxiety'. Day care may be on a weekly or monthly basis, or just for those extra long work days. This is an exceptionally good opportunity, with many different options for puppies and adult dogs whose owners consistently work long hours. Most of our dog's daily needs can be achieved during doggie day care.
